Car Travel Seats for Big Havs

My little guy is not a big fan of the car. He's actually an excellent traveler - no barking, whining, shaking - and mostly sleeps. But he did get carsick fairly often at the beginning of trips. I finally broke down and got a Lookout Snoozer (

) which nearly eliminated all car sickness episodes.

However, now my guy, at just over a year, is not quite so little. At 15 lbs and still scrawny, he doesn't lay down comfortably in the Snoozer. Do you all have recommendations for lookout car seats for lap-and-a-half Havs?

Check out the thread entitled 'Tagalong on seat pet booster' I just purchased this seat, and love, love it! I got the Deluxe model, and it hold a pet up to 30 lbs.

Thanks - I missed that thread! Looks like I'll be ordering the Tagalong.

You could also check out the FidoRido. I really like this one.

We bought Tucker the Snoozer Lookout Luxury Large. He's 18 lbs. and has plenty of room to lay down. We drove from NH to Fl. and back last year and the car seat was great. He had room to move around, lookout and sleep. The weight limit on the large is 34 lbs. By going larger we knew he would have the necessary room to move around and get comfortable.

I have the larger size (the oversized) lookout seat for Brady and he loves it. He is almost 20 pounds and lays down in it. It says it fits dogs up to 25 lbs.

Django loves his car seat. you definately need one that will keep him comfortable, i do think there are car seats out there for 15lb dogs. it's the only way i can take him to the vet every 3 weeks. he usually falls asleep 5 minutes after we leave the house

Jack seems happy in his tagalong seat. I have it set up in the 3rd row of my Rav4. Jack is 15 lbs (probably a little more now.)

I have the look-out seat for Henry. No draws or extra's, just the seat. I throw a towel over it in case his paws are wet or whatnot.

I bought a medium sized - look out type seat for my 19 lb Havanese. It is a strong foam, covered with a lamb's wool type lining. It gets seatbelted into the back seat, then I place a harness on DUKE and hook the harness to the seatbelt. He has plenty of room to look out and even lay on his back to sleep. We've taken two trips from PA to FL with him ( My 15 lb min poodle in the small size too) and its been great. I now have to buy a 3rd one for my new Havanese puppy. Heading to Fla again in April - but think I will take the crate for the puppy this time, as she will only be 4 months old.
