Blue Buffalo...

Finally got around to getting some Blue Buffalo for the boys today. Mixed with current food per instructions and I thought they were going to eat the metal off the bottom of the dish! And I was worried they might not like it
Any one out there that can chime in as to what to expect regarding any changes in BM during this transition? I am hoping it does not disturb their stomachs too much.

Both of my boys are on blue buffalo, and they were completely fine during the transition, they also love it as much as yours do!

The slower the transition the better. Why flirt with diarrhea.?

Blue Buffalo is one of the numerous foods we tried to get Yogi to eat. She did eat it for a short period. She's one of those dogs that take a mouthful of food, and carry it to various locations, lay it down, and then eat it. She would not eat the LifeSource Bits, and I was forever picking them up from where ever she had left them, and throwing them away. She is currently eating Canidae, as that is what Boo eats. I have 4 partial bags of dog food she won't eat anymore. I need to remember to take them to the Humane Society next time I go to Dubuque!

Abby eats Blue Buffalo and has good firm stools - we never have to have a butt bath (watch me jinx myself!). Stacey, I had forgotten about the life source bits in there until you mentioned it because Abby used to pick them out, too! So, it just occurred to me she is eating them now! Maybe she got too lazy to pick them out!

McGee's breeder doesn't recommend it because it is not grain-free but I checked it out on one of the websites that rates the different dog foods and Blue Buffalo had a rating of 4 with 5 being the highest so I didn't think that was bad.

SirWinston does the same thing, picks out the life source bits and they are all over the floor. I have him on the one with potato and salmon, called Basics...which ones are you using? I was told not to use the Wilderness unless he was a highly active/working dog, this by the Blue Buffalo representative in the store. I also purchased some treats, but he is not crazy over the Bananas and Yogurt, she recommended that as being a "hit"...She has been with the company for many years, but Sir Winston does not care for these two things.

Abby has chicken and brown rice. No stomach issues in three years so we're sticking with what works!

Maddie and Zoey eat small breed chicken and rice puppy food. Last bag I bought had way too many of the little bite things so I wrote them and they were very good about finding out what batch it was and said that that can happen at a beginning of a run . When I first started Maddie on Blue Buffallo I wrote them to see how many of the bites were suppose to be in a 1/4 cup and they said about 7 the last bag had about 30! They were nice and are going to try to be more careful. And sent me a coupon for $27.0

Sir Winston does pick out all those little bits and place them on the floor, he eats the rest, but won't touch those "life bits"...he is not a picky eater.
