Pictures to post resizing question

Anyone know of a quick and easy way to downsize pics to meet the requirements to post? For the horse forums I keep a calculator handy and keep downsizing by percentages until it comes under the kb limit, but it's so clunky that I don't end up doing it much.

What software are you using and Ill tell you exactly how to do it.
In photoshop, I go to Image>Image Size, take the pixels to 72 ppi, then take the longest size to about 600 pixels, sometimes 500, if the pictures has a lot of different colors in it. The more colors the bigger the file size for some reason.

If your program has a save for web, or any image size program it can be done.
I can most likely tell you how to do it pretty easy, since I seem to spend 23 hours a day on the computer.

We're just using the canned software that came with the Nikon. No easy way to do it. I haven't put any time into looking at what the different Photo software does so on the horse forum I've just been figuring the ____x____kb on resizing.

They just came out with an update for this forum software. ( A week after I buy it!!!)
I think the new software will automatically resize your images. As long as they are not HUGE it should be fine.
