Been and gone and done it

Well, after much decision making by the vet and myself i've done the deed and booked Pixie in for her little girlie op on the 15th (next Friday if my memory serves me well). She couldn't have it at the same time as the boys as she was so small, i've had to wait those few extra weeks, i don't even know if she will be given the go ahead on the 15th, she has to be checked over. I don't think i could watch another week of her teasing the boys the way she does - if you know what i mean, the little minx.
I have this bad feeling that she won't make it though i know i'm being silly, but it makes it all the harder being away from them all this weekend, i'm stuck in a hotel opposite Heathrow airport for a weekend seminar while Hubby and son are 3.5 hrs drive away up in Yorkshire, looking after the pups, but we did a webcam chat earlier so i could see them all. Not that they were interested, i think sleep was more on their minds lol.
Anyway, just had to let it all out and get it off my chest, i think it's worse being by yourself and mulling all these thoughts over. Roll on tomorrow evening when i can drive back home. I can't believe i'm missing them so much, it's the longest i've been away from them.
Ramblings over - wheres that large glass of wine?

I'm sure everything will go fine. All moms go through this. Yeah it's amazing how you can miss them. When I go away for a week , I miss Molly big time. Makes you appreciate them more. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I understand how you feel, Nellie still hasn't been done, she is due to be spayed at the end of May beginning of June as I have my half term week then and I will be able to be with her.But she still seems so immature, very much a baby in looks and personality, and has not blown her coat yet.She had her first season back in the middle to end of February, and seems to have stopped doing excitement widdles!I have been told that after they have been done it can play havoc with their coats,Oh well we will have to wait and see.The best of luck for Pixie and you, hope all goes very well, and those boys aren't too bouncy with her after the operation!I think our Dizzie will be pleased with some peace and quiet whilst Nellie is recuperating.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I'm sure she'll be fine, we all have that huge sense of worry and fear anytime a lil one (furry or not!) goes under the knife.

As far as being away, The last few years, I've booked vacations where I can take her!! I spend too much time worrying she's okay if she's not with me

Kara, did Gucci's coat go a bit mad after her spaying? It looks absolutely beautiful in the photos, but I seem to remember somewhere you said, her coat changed[or maybe I am dreaming it up.]

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your good wishes, it really helped that weekend i was away. Aren't we all softies haha.
Thankfully Pixie made it through and even had two puppy teeth pulled at the same time as they were long overdue out and would have interfered with the rest of the teeth if left in. Now pixie is living it up being waited on and even has her own little sleep pen where she goes when she wants time away from the boisterous boys, but right now its cuddle time on my lap.
I didnt have a onesie (??) to hand and she wouldnt budge with the cone collar so i wrapped a small bandage round her belly which just covers it and she is comfortable and can move around freely with it. My son put his foot down hard when i suggested using a pair of his old briefs lol.

I am so glad that Pixie is doing well. It's always nice to have them home afterwards-too much worrying while they are at the vet.

Haha about the briefs!

Oh no! we went visiting to the grandparents, we let the boys out in the huge garden, pixie the little madam shot past my legs and ran as fast as her little legs could go after the boys then chased them for a few circuits round the garden before i could catch hold of her. If the vet found out i think i would get a severe talking to, they stated first ten minute lead walk only after ten days - oops! I checked her stitches they were ok and i checked for any swelling throughout the day and all seems good - phew! I'm going to have to watch that little monkey! Thank goodness it's the holidays.
