Footprints

Question: I want to get my pups actual paw prints for a possible project. What kind of ink can I use that would not be harmful to them, and would clean off??

Does it have to be ink? if not any paint that a child would use non toxic. It might be hard to find something that would not stain the fur if it got on it. Their are a lot of natural dyes maybe if you googled that you could make your own. What are you making?

I know a friend that made plaster footprints of her lab. I think she was at the beach and put some fast acting plaster on the the wet sand (footprints)
I'll check and get back to you

They make an ink marker for use with rubber stamps that looks just like a magic marker. It disappears in water easily from the rubber stamp. I don't think this would harm a paw....though I've never did it. Which leads me to a better/quicker idea. If they make water soluable ink in a marker, why not a large ink pad....then press the whole paw in it and transfer as desired....put a plate with a super wet paper towel on it next to your ink pad. Ink paw/print/paw to paper towel and dry!

Maybe a child's finger paints. Should be safe, stain-free and non-toxic, too!

My granddaughter and I did stepping stones of the dogs (we did it the summer before Poohkey died) she wanted to always have them in the garden. Anyway we used plastic wrap on their paws, you need to pull it tight we used a rubberband to hold it in place it took a few trys to get them right. We have also used it for ink paw prints.

Poohkey miss you, monkey.
