Griffin is Healthy!

So far so good. Griffin has worms and ear infections but none of that is unusual says our vet. He won the "Cutest Pup" contest at the vet's yesterday. Everyone went crazy over the little guy and he didn't even flinch when he got his rabies shot. They were impressed. When they took his temp he did get a slight, "Mommy, I think I've been violated" look on his face. lol

Yea Griffen, Yes I would have asked for some licks myself if I worked at your vets.
I can't remember his story. Do the rescue folks know his background.? He seems so adjusted and happy. How did you find him?

The rescue organization said he was a puppy mill rescue and guess him to be Shih Tzu/Poodle. He and five litter mates were coming to this woman's home and only two made it as three were taken before they got to her house. Then Griffin's brother was adopted three weeks ago and he was left behind.

He got along famously with all the other dogs and cats at the rescue. The house was full of the woman's show dogs and other show dogs she was training as well as rescues. Griffin was adopted once by a family a three hour drive away only to be returned the very next day due to a child's allergies. She said he came back in and sat down and was right back at home. Like nothing happened except a six hour car ride. Breaks my heart. My son who has dog allergies is not affected by Griff.

It took me two weeks of emails back and forth to finally get a meeting. He was so filthy and smelled incredibly bad. He was at the rescue for approximately two months if I am getting the story right. He seemed very neglected and I wonder with the ear infections and worms. The rescue lady was at show's every weekend I tried to see him. I felt like she was making it really difficult to see him but I was determined. She wouldn't return my phone calls and emails for a long time. She said she deleted my calls by accident. It seems he knows we are taking care of him and he is part of our forever family. He's just the best! I found him on Petfinder.com when I was looking for rescue Havanese.
