Airline travel advice, please!

My Havanese pooch is very long for her 12 pounds. She measures 18" collar to base of tail and 11" high at the shoulder. My problem is that I would like to take her with me when I fly to join family at the beach, but I haven't been able to find a carrier that is long enough for her and short enough to go under the seat in the airplane cabin.

Does anyone know of make and model that will work?

Look at the Kobi carrier. The large is what I bought for Coach when he gets bigger. They also have a length extender. And even though they say they are supposed to be able to stand, most dogs can't, but travel just fine.

I used a Sturdi Products Pet carrier in size Large for Ache. It is 18" L X 12" H X 12" W. It is very flexible so it can be push down 2-3" without a problem. Many people use a Sherpa carrier in size Large which is 19" L. This is a picture of my carrier :

Thank you!

Thanks for your ideas! Also, your experience. I won't worry so much about her having to be stretched out then.

We have a Sherpa that is approved by most if not all airlines. Not sure of the size.

I've flown with Gucci several times with different bags and they've always been okay with a part of the carrier sticking out from under the seat, I don't think any carrier will even go ALL the way under, especially in some of the smaller planes with less leg room.

She usually curls up in the bag and never stretches her full length anyways, atleast not during a flight
