Talking How do you get greeted?

Hello everyone,

Today when I got home Ninja flipped over on his back for a belly rub. Is this a sign of submission? He only does this when he's to tired to run up and jump all over me lol. He also does this when my father comes home. He still wags his tail and I could swearr I see a smile . Plus when I walk away he stays like that as if he wants another belly rub lol..

So how do you all get greeted when you come home from a busy day?

Stories?..Pictures?..please share

Augie usually kind of steps back and gets up on his hind legs and dances around. We have worked on having him not jump on people so he knows he is not supposed to do that, though it is hard for him. When I bend over him, he seems to know that is his invitation and he will rest his paws lightly on my legs to be loved on. It is such a good feeling to be greeted so excitedly with that little tail going a mile a minute!

all three of my dogs crowd the front door, and greet me right when I crack the door open.

my 1/2 hav Ollie, he jumps and does this butt wiggle thing that is just beyond cute! and he barks to welcome me home. If I pick him up and put him close to my face, he licks me madly!!!

all three wait for a pat on the head for an acknowledgement of a hello, then they follow me around a little and then resume their daily business.

love my doggies!

Thumbs down

I think it's very sweet that Ninja wants a belly rub when you get home! (and he is so cute, btw)
We're still learning with Oliver and I know things are going to get better as time goes on and we work with a trainer. But really my favorite part of the day is coming home, knowing that he will be wagging away and excited to see me!
I have been married 15 years, and have 3 kids- 14, 12 and 9; I can't remember the last time an of them jumped up to me and hugged me saying "mommy, mommy, I'm so happy to see you! you're the best! let's play!" or "honey, honey, I hope you're day was good! you are the greatest wife in the world! i love you i love you i love you" But I swear, that's the kind of stuff Oliver would say if he could!
So I think that love alone deserves a belly rub!

Lol, that's exactly the way Ceylon is - he bounces so much he seems like a rubber ball! He also does the whining/whimpering when he finally gets picked up and loved... <3

Kodi goes into what we call his "Monkey Dog" routine. When we come in the door he starts running in tiny circles at our feet, almost squatting down. While he does this, he makes a noise that sounds more like a chimpanzee than a dog. The more he likes a person, and the less often he sees them, the more of this greeting they get. I usually only get the WHOLE routine if I've been away on a trip. I have to good friends who he loves, and he practically turns himself inside out when he sees them. Like Augie, in the end, if he's invited, he'll place his feet up on your knees for "hugs".
