Total EEEWWWW!!!!! (you've been warned!)

Well, yesterday afternoon Kodi asked to go out to potty, so like a dutiful Mom, I took him out. He was off leash, and before I had time to react, I realized that the cat had killed and decapitated a mouse on the driveway. Kodi dove for it and grabbed the head. I tried to dig it out of his mouth, but couldn't find it. (he must have had it in his cheek or something) So I let him go and he ran off, crunching up mouse skull as he went.

Then, because he wasn't going to let me catch him again, I didn't dare step away from the mouse body that was still lying there, for fear that he's get that too. So I had to pick the thing up in MY BARE HANDS and put it in the trash!

I don't know who was prouder... The cat for supplying him with dinner, or him for eating like a "wild wolf". (can you say "Raw DIET?!?!")

Just totally does NOT mesh - the appearance of these sweet little characters and the YUCKY things they want to eat! And thanks, Karen, I just threw up all over my keyboard...almost....Ha! But, really, the thought of it makes me gag.

Sonwbelle is 10 1/2, so she's not far behind! Plus she's all white and long haired. Definitely puts a damper on her camouflage skills!

Dave has taken to calling the pair of the Hairy (Kodi) and Scary (Snowbelle).

It was right before I started cooking dinner that it happened, and I started feeling a little OCD-ish with the number of times I washed my hands (right up to the elbow) first. (and I only picked the thing up by a foot, between two fingers) I still felt a bit queazy all the time I was cooking!

Ewww...so proud of you!! Our cat started going out a few years ago and all summer we would hear EWWW when someone saw a dead critter by the door. Now we barely flinch unless it is a bird. My hubby always picks them up by the tail, I use a shovel. Luckily, Lizzie has only given them a sniff!

When I lived in Oregon we had a dog door in the basement and the hunter cat, not the lazy cat, would bring in all sorts of dead things. One morning I was on the treadmill and there were like a thousand flies buzzing around. I couldn't figure out why.

stop here if you want,

A dead mouse/rat, hard to tell at this point was under the treadmill and had gone unfound and had been a host to maggots. That was 20 years ago and still creeps me out.

Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!!!!! The other night someone brought in the remains of a dead bird unbeknownst to me. I saw what was left of it in the morning and it still makes me want to throw up. I can't believe you worked up the nerve to touch it.
