Another New Member!

Hi Everybody!

I have a new baby...she is a Havanese/Pomeranian mix. I am still a new over protective mama so for now her will be 'Daisey' on the forum.

I think her appearance favors more of her Havanese side.

She is an incredibly sweet little fluff ball!! She will be 12 weeks on Sunday and weighs about 3.5 lbs. according to the doc at her check-up yesterday. Mom and Dad are both 7 lbs. so I am hoping that she will stay under 10 lbs...?

Because she is a mix I hope I am still in the right place?

Wow, is she cute. Will be interesting to see what she looks like when fully grown. We had first rescued a Pom who was 9 months old, but he did not like kids under 15ish. We have 2 of those! He now lives with my mom and dad. He seems to like the quieter house.

Welcome!!!

Of course you are in the right place, half a Hav is better than no Hav at all! Daisey looks like a little stuffed toy,so sweet. So was her Mum or Dad the Havanese, which way round was it?I wonder if she will keep her colour, like a Pom, or if she will change like a Hav.Please keep us updated with lots of info and pics! She really is a pretty little girl.

She's a beautiful girl. She looks Havvy except for her Pom ears. I'm curious if her hair can grow long like a Hav or if it will stop at "powder puff" length like most Poms. Guess you'll have to keep us posted with pictures!

Does she shed at all? Hopefully she picked up the Hav side of that too!

Thanks everyone for all the replies!

I will keep you all updated on her transformation...Mom was the Havanese and Dad was the Pom. They are supposed to take on the non-shed trait...so far so good...but do puppies even shed?

My husband and I had a Shih Tzu for 7 years before my first was born. Once the crawling stage came around she didn't take too kindly to it so sadly we had her placed in a home where there weren't any kids. This is our first dog in almost 15 years! My kids are in the teen and tween stage (as they like to say, they FINALLY wore me down to get another dog!) so hopefully her temperament will be just fine with them. Both mom and dad were used to being around kids and lots of other animals...so far so good...my fingers are crossed!

One thing with the Shih Tzu is because their ears are flopped over they are more prone to ear infections...I am secretly hoping that her ears stay sticking up...easier for them to air out!

Welcome, Daisey is adorable. It will be fun to see her changes. My neighbors have 2 poms. My Huey is in love with their girl pom, thank goodness both are fixed. I always thought the mix would be cute and Daisey is proof.

The few pics that I have seen of this mix have all been pretty cute. ♥ Huey sounds adorable.
