"A Dog's Purpose" A Novel for Humans

Has any one else read this book? A Dog's Purpose: A Novel for Humans by W. Bruce Cameron. I loved it - didn't want to put it down and needed to keep the box of tissues nearby.

It has certainly made me think about what my dog's are thinking about me and some of the "messages" I might be sending them that I am not even aware of but that they are picking up. I know the book if fiction but it really struck a cord with me. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience reading this book. I highly recommend it!

I picked it up at Costco and will read it at the cottage. Sounds interesting.

One of my daughters gave me a Nook Color for Fathers day. Yesterday I was searching for a book to buy on my new Nook, so on your recommendation I bought A Dogs Purpose . I'm already a third the way through. I'm enjoying it. Thanks!

Some of the situations were so heartbreaking that I finished the book feeling really sad.

I am so bad I do not generally get books with a unhappy ending, I am so bad I scan the last chapter to see how a book ends before I even buy it. Even so sometimes I get stuck with a sad one. Life has so many sad endings...I just want to at least read about happy ones. Yes I am pathetic!!!!

**spoiler alert**

I read this last summer and although the ending is a sad, heart wrenching one, the book was touching and had a unique perspective and story line (for a dog book, anyways)

@ magpie/ Robbie, its alright to demand happy endings, girl! Life gives us enough unhappy ones, nothing wrong with choosing to keep our selective life positive

See, I just can't read that kind of book that would leave me feeling sad. I would collect the book, but couldn't read it.

Well I don't pay to be sad whether it is a movie or a book. Life if sad enough without me reading about sad things, so count me out. Now a happy dog story, I will read. And, the movie about the dogs and cat that found their way home or the talking pig--I'll take them anytime.
