Well, I hope your Master closet is larger than mine is - and cleaner!! You got a bottle of wine and a good book? I hope the fireworks in your area don't go on for days like they do here. Glad, though, that you found a place for him to get away from the racket!

I know your pain! For years we spent every 4th of July at home with the AC going full blast all night, the TV blaring in the front room and radios going in the bedroom. All so our noise-phobic dogs would miss at least some of the racket outside.

Our most phobic dogs have since passed and the one that's left is hard of hearing. She's sleeping through the noise right now and we have the doors & windows open.

Poor Django. Give your little guy a hug from us.

I had to laugh when I read these. Since we had fireworks going off all around Sunday and Monday night, we had our TV so loud that we had to raise our voices to talk! We normally mute the commercials so there was a lot of racket but no shaking dogs!! And it doesn't hurt that DaniGirl is 10 so I think her hearing may not be as good.

My Cagney is the most frightened of all. I've always had to finally get into bed, turn the tv on loud and shut out all outside sights to get through the misery of fireworks. I suspect she might be getting a little hard of hearing since she was a bit less terrified last night.

I was shocked to find that Piper, who is afraid of plastic bags, had no problem with the fireworks last night. She barked briefly but that was it and even wanted to go outside for a walk.

I got a good laugh this morning when I was putting a new bag in the trash can and she went running.

We had a peaceful night here last night - no neighbors doing fireworks and they ones in town are 5 miles away so not too loud. When we went outside McGee started to pee until he heard a boom and then he quit! So, I waited until they were over and took him out again. We couldn't hear them at all in the house. He did a few little low woofs outside but Abby was her usual mellow self!

I'm like Linda - good thing we don't have trouble because I couldn't even fit a dog in my jammed closet let along myself!!!
