A LITTLE HUMOR IN MY LIFE

As most of you know by now, I have not been well for a while. My DH has prepared every meal for me since I came home from the hospital in January. Mind you before this he couldn't cook anything but breakfast food. We have had a hot evening meal every night though and he is getting pretty good with his cooking. He has a small garden and is cooking a lot of fresh veggies for me. He asks what to season with and I try to tell him; but if he gets it wrong, I just eat it anyway and never say a word. (that is what I expect from him when I cook and burn the roast or something.) It is not like he doesn't know that the food doesn't taste right. But tonight was the time I had to speak up. He fixed smashed potatoes fresh from the garden. He had seasoned with butter, sourcream, and chives. The first fork full had a lond piece of chive in it--or so I thought. I pulled that off and preceeded to continue eating. But the chives were so tough that I had to keep putting them aside. Finally it hit me. It wasn't chives at all it was grass!. Of course he noticed this pile of grass I had on the side of my plate and inquired what was the problem. I had to tell him then that it was grass and I believed it to be monkey grass. Sure enough he took me to show me that he had picked the chives along the fence row. But of course he picked the monkey grass along the fence row. I don't know when I have laughed so hard and finally he saw the humor in it also and we both laughed so hard that he had to help me back in the house because I lost my breath from laughing. He asked me not to tell anyone; but of course, I told him that this was too good not to tell. Hope you all enjoy also. Lucile

Ahhh Lucile , that' s a good one. Sounds like something I might do. My cooking skills are very limited too. You two , sound like a match made in heaven. Thanks for sharing that, I feel better ,LOL

That is too cute! I am glad that you are home and doing well.

I just read your other post-I am glad that you are home and sorry about the disappointment of not being able to put the stent in.

Lucile, tears are rolling down my face as I had a hearty laugh reading your grassy menu story. Laughter is the best medicine. Wishing you at least one chuckle a day.

Dave I just had to share it because of your "there's not many of us" on the other post.

Hehe my DH will bring home parsley instead of cilantro, I mean cilantro has a smell. It is the thought that counts.
