I have been a bit MIA since I first posted. Summer months when my kids
are home I don't get a lot of computer time but whenever I can I lurk or if I need to research anything, this information shared on this site has been invaluable!
Daisey will be 19 weeks tomorrow. She is a bundle of love and I can't believe
that I can love a dog this much! She is really mellow and will let me nuzzle and snuggle to my heart content whenever I want.
She doesn't really 'enjoy' me brushing her but has learned to tolerate it pretty well as long as treats are involved. LOL I just started putting her hair up in a top knot this past week (you can barely see the tiny rubberband!) and she has really good with that as well. I think she likes being able to see!
Potty training is going really well, knock on wood she has only had one piddle accident in the past 3 weeks or so and that was because the slider was shut (we put a doggie door into the screen) and we didn't realize it. She still only has access to half of the downstairs - the entry way (where the stairs are) and the living room are off limits. I think keeping her activity area smaller has really helped her progress.
She is a good sleeper at night, in a crate next to our bed, and usually from about 10pm-7am straight through. I didn't get her out until 8 today and she did great!
We also have an identical crate downstairs. Someone is usually always around but we have had to leave her in it for 3-4 hours at a time when we were gone with no problems.
She just got her final round of puppy shots last week so we are good to go on her first walk. I also want to get her adjusted to other dogs so I am looking into a beginning dog class. She will be getting spayed next month. I'm nervous for her!
The vet also put her on Comfortis for flea prevention. I have some questions about heart worms, etc., but will make another thread for that in case someone else needs the same info.
Well, thanks for letting me update all of you!!
Here is my pumpkin! ♥
