Sedona vacation

I enjoyed reading the posts and seeing the photos about beach vacations so I thought I'd write to see if anyone has spent time in Sedona. We're planning a September drive from Texas, through Albuquerque, and on to Sedona and then the Grand Canyon.

I'm shocked by the fee the hotels charge for dogs. One resort in Albuquerque was really neat but then I saw that the fee per dog would cost more than the room for my husband and myself. We're now searching Trip Advisor for clean, dog friendly rooms that don't charge so much per dog. And it seems that the city of Sedona is pretty dog friendly. That would be nice.

After you go, you will have to post photos and your impression of Sedona. My husband has been there with his guy friends (he goes to AZ when the Seattle Mariners are there for spring training) and said it is very pretty; I haven't been, however. When we took a road trip to Montana from Washington last fall, motels were pretty reasonable in their pet fees. I might think differently about it when we have to pay for two. But it seems like they were anywhere from $10-15 for Augie - cheaper than boarding him, for sure.

Sedona is breathtaking and I would say it is a must-see if you are in AZ. The shopping is great and the hotels are beautiful. It is very peaceful. However, I've never been there with the furbabies,so can't give any advice. I know you will enjoy it.
