Sneezing while playing

hi...just wondering if this is normal. Fionn sneezes like crazy when he is playing with another dog. My brother calls him a "HavaSneeze"!! He rarely, if ever, sneezes any other time. Just when he's playing hard with another dog. Is this normal? Why do they do this?

Thanks!
Jan

Augie has done it for a long time, Finn just started - and this may not even be what you are talking about, but it comes across as a sneeze to me - I notice it mostly when we are training and they are impatient, for me to get them a treat or whatever, and it is usually accompanied by a little front foot action - not really a stomping of the feet, but almost. It is like they are saying 'come on - move it already!' Maybe it is a snort in our case!

Oliver sometimes gets so excited with other dogs, that he, too lets out a "sneeze-like" sound! I agree, it kinda sounds like snorting- "snorzing" maybe?

Tucker does it whenever he is playing... with the cat, another dog, a person... It is like his invitation, or his verbalization, and "this is fun!"

Coco does this all the time while playing with his little friend Sophie a Papillon.(spelling?) In fact they both sneeze like crazy. I think while playing they bang their noses or the fur gets into their nose and the sneeze.

Henry does it too - kind of a snort. I think of it as part of his vocabulary. He seems to do it when he is agreeing with me - Q: "Wanna go downstairs?" A: <snort>. I'm thinking of adding it to my own vocabulary.

I've heard it's their way of inviting you to play. Tori does it very frequently.

Oh yes! Baxter does that too. I always figured it was some kind of super wimpy bark.
