Do You...

Have any special games you play with your furbabies? Do you have special names for your special games? How did you come up with them? What are some of your favourites? Are there any games they play with certain family members, but with no one else? Any that you recommend for any particular reason?

Grover Looooooves "the blanket game," which is when we stick our hands or feet under the covers on the bed and he tries to catch them - I always considered this a cat game, but Grover felt the need to correct me on that one >_>

Also, on a similar topic, is it just my Grover, or do ALL Havs LOVE toilet paper/toilet paper rolls? Grover is incessantly trying to grab the end of the toilet paper and run away with it to leave tp streaming through the house - luckily he hasn't made it very far, yet! Thank goodness!

Whimsy and I play the sock game. Whimsy "stays" upstairs while I go down and put a treat in the sock, hide the sock and then call her down to find it. She runs around like a nut looking for it, finds it , and happily gets her prize out of it. She could do this all day! I usually hide it behind the throw pillows on the couch or behind/under furniture.
( And to answer your question I think all dogs love toilet paper! LOL)

I picked up a really fun game from this forum and I call it "find me"; I will have Dionna on one floor of the house with hubby and then I will go to another floor and will hide. I then begin to call out "find me, find me" and she runs to the floor that I am on and will begin to look for me. When she finds me, she is so overjoyed

Dionna loves toilet paper and toilet paper rolls. And also napkins--she is sneaky and loves to try to steal a napkin from a lap in a very stealth manuver LOL. She then takes it to her crate and will begin to shred it. She loves to mess with shoelaces. She also took the orthodic out of my one shoe and she mangled it I need to go to the podiatrist to get another one but am feeling a bit sheepish about explaining that it got shredded by my dog. Sounds like a homework kind of excuse LOL. For some reason she became very focused on this orthodic and I would have to secure my shoes and one day I was careless and she went for it.

I work at a public elementary school. after I got my 1/2 hav, aka paper shredder, I tease my students (I'm a speech therapist) if they have problems finishing their homework or turning it in on time, they can borrow my 1/2 hav b/c he shred paperwork, then they can tell the teacher that the dog ate my HW and it'd be true, always get a smile out of that... then I tell them to just do their HW b/c it's a lot easier.

ok, I'm slow to confess my favorite game. I've always had big dogs, and always been instructed never to 'hand play' with big dogs, b/c they won't know the difference, and might accidentally hurt someone.

so when I got a little dog, it was natural to hand play. he's got a soft mouth, has never 'bitten' me, broken skin...it's super cute. when he wants to play with me, he'll either come up to me, and nose me, push his nose on me... or he'll come up and briefly grab my hand, let go, and then stare at it, and wag his tail. super cute!

Tessa loves to shred paper, any kind of paper. She will go into a wastepaper basket right in front of us and pull out whatever she can. She is 7 1/2 months old and so far, has never chewed any furniture, shoes, etc., but anything paper is not safe in our house. She even carried the newspaper to her bed today twice. She also loves to play the blanket game. I also have two cats so this game is played a lot in our house.

Cooper is not much of player but "terrorize the cats" has become a very popular game now at our house. Cooper never bothered with cats until Tessa came. Now they both chase the cats all over. We have been working on suggestions the trainer gave us this week and it seems to be working a little bit.
