Kix are for Havs

I know someone has mentioned this in an earlier post- But I just tried giving KIX Cereal to the boys as a training treat and they loved them! I am constantly looking for something they will eat that isn't all protein as they have a pretty high protein diet. So thanks who ever suggested it. Just so you know- I tried cheerios a while a go and they didn't like those.

I am the Kix girl~! I have potty trained all of my dogs using Kix cereal.
They absolutely love it, and still get it as treats!

No Kara
Oatmeal is good for them as long as they do not have a grain allergy and you do not over do it .
When Cosmo was younger he did not tolerate it but now he is older it seems better . There is this Dog food mix called Dr Harvey's - you add your own meat or protein and it comes in two formulas one has oatmeal base and the other has veggies .
I use it when I travel as it is easier - all I have to do is add the chicken or turkey ..
When I had my German Shorthair that is one of his recipies . I used oatmeal - then he could not tolerate that too well so we switched to Yukon gold mashed potatoes mixed with meat and veggies and that helped him live even longer ..
it all depends what is in the table scraps . I think they say this to prevent dogs for begging at the table but not because table scraps are bad ..
When my Mom was young that is all her dog got was table scraps .. They had never heard of dog food !

Kara,

All three of my guys just love oatmeal. I actually love plain ole' rolled oats or steal cut oats and I don't like them sweet, I like them lightly salted and they go nuts over it.

Oh and Kix is going on my next shopping list.

Cereal Eh. Well I will defiinitely have to try that. Too bad I can't buy that cereal down here. I wonder what the equivelant would be for us up here in Canada?? It would have to be low sugar.

Yeah no Kix down here Ryan...Perhaps the Chex would work...nothing to stringy though...we wouldn't want a choking incident.
