No Bike path for 'Pote

OMG...I love my new house!! The community is great and I've gotten to run EVERY night! I even found this great bike path that goes around a small lake less than a mile away that I've been running to and then around..so naturally I thought it would be a great place to take Capote for a walk/run. A lot of people were walking their bigger dogs there and they seemed to be having fun.

Boy was I ever wrong!

The bike path isn't really maintained..as far as the fields around it..so there's stickers EVERYwhere!! Capote went into the grass ONCE and was COVERED in them! I had to sit down in the middle of the bike path and pull them out of his paws and out of his fur!! It was horrible!! I was trying to be gentle for him AND for me cause those suckers hurt!!

Needless to say, no more bike path for Capote... from now on we're sticking to the safe sidewalks around my house..

Been there done that!
I cans say when we go out, Stogie can pick up anything out of the yard.

We have stopped on road trips to potty and he was covered in stickers.

Hope you got them all out. Good luck!

Yikes! I bet that was awful.

My worst sticker experiences have been on dog show grounds - go figure! We have a long coated breed and can't walk them on some of the grounds because the stickers are so bad.

I hope Capote is rid of them - and your fingers aren't too sore.

I'm a little confused what the heck is a sticker.....?? Is that a Bur....one of those little round annoying things that get into the hair? I'm happy it seems to be a great neighbourhod for you and it's always great moving into a great place from an apartment. More room, more freedom, more bathroom space, prety much more everything.

Congratulations.....I was wondering where you had gone to.

LOL Derek, when I first was ready I thought boy the field IS really unkept if people are letting their kids leave their stickers all over the place..

Yeah I'm thinking what the heck is a sticker....I thought it was slang for a bur or something sticky from the ground that was getting in Capote's hair. My god how many stickers can there possibly be in one feild or bike path. That's horrendous if there are that many of those things all over the place.

Smile

It's amusing how people in different parts of the U.S. define a word. I grew up in Indiana and we used the word sticker for burrs, also.

I've experienced that with Sedona. I took her to the doggie dentist when she was a few months old to have a tooth extraction. We got there very early so I thought I'd walk her in the vacant lot across the street. She ended up covered in stickers (burrs) and I spent at least 30 minutes pulling them out and the vet even pulled a few I missed when they had her under sedation. It was awful. Poor baby.
