Endearing traits (spawned by the thread 'This was spawned by Tracy's thread'!)

Haha, I just thought that there should be a thread about all of sweet, endearing things that our havs do, to balance out the other recent thread by pjewel. Not that I haven't been totally following and LOLing at that thread, because I have!!

So I guess I should start. Ceylon loves to hop up onto the back of the couch and then start laying on a shoulder (usually mine, but he will lay on my daughter's shoulder if I am not available!). He starts by standing with his two front feet on my shoulder and his hind end laying down on the couch, and progresses to laying as much across me as he can lol! He does this ALL the time, especially if we just came in after being away for a bit... also, if I don't pet him with the hand closest to him, he will just lick me (face, shoulder, arm, whatever is within reach!) until I give in and pet him

So I forgot to say, post your stories (and hopefully also pictures!) of all of the sweet things that your hav or havs do!

Brody does something similar, but he just puts his head on my shoulder (in the crook between my neck and shoulder). It's just so darn loveable!

Heather cute pics. Reminds me of how my dogs like to climb in my lap when I am on the computer [and also when I am reading the newspaper] and get between me and the computer screen [and the paper] so I cannot see it. LOL

Tessa always wants a kiss good night. Because my husband gets up so much earlier for work than I do, he takes the pups to bed with him. Tessa goes outside for her last piddle of the day and then comes in, puts her front paws on the arm of my chair and when I lean down, she gives me a kiss and then trots off to bed. She started this, not something I trained her to do. So of course, any of the bad or naughty things she has done during day are completely forgotten. She also sleeps across the top of the bed, usually on the pillows and when I go to bed, I have to pull my pillow out from under her if I want to use it.

Cooper's cutest thing is that when you say "happy tail" he wags his tail so hard you think it's going to fall off.

I also love to watch the two of them play RLH. It's much more fun with two.

ok, I know that everyone thinks that their babies do adorable stuff...my havie gets sooo excited when I come back in a room. She tap dances all over the place and waves her paw at me. Its so cute! This happens whether I leave for an hour, or just go to the bathroom.

I have had to think about this for a day. There are so many things that most all of our pups do that I am sure will be told. Rosie sleeps in the nest behind my legs and sometimes she just knows that my back is hurting and gets next to my back--like a heating pad. But the thing that I notice and that always makes me smile is the warm
spots on the carpet, bed and this one really gets me the wide threshhold at the bathroom door. Whenever I get up out of the bed, she keeps my spot warm and since I go barefooted most of the time in the house, I step in her warm spots on the carpet where she has been laying at my feet. And the wooden threshhold at the bathroom door, she stays there when I am in the bathroom and moves just as I open the door and the wood is so warm. Faithful little dog.

Oh, Lucile, I love the warm spots on the floor as well! And the kiss goodnight, Tessa's mommy. And how excited they are to see us when we have been gone for a bit. I just keep going 'Awww, awww, awwwwww as I read the stories.

Augie's thing is - when I read the paper in the morning, I will sit in a recliner. He will sit there on the floor until I put the foot rest up. Then he jumps up and positions himself across my lap, and then I can open the paper up and read it, while he is under it. When we are gone, I leave Finn gated in the kitchen and when we walk up to the gate after coming home, he is there jumping up and down like a kangaroo. Thank goodness, smart as he is, he hasn't figured out he can jump high enough to sail right over the gate if he chose. That boy has some springy legs! When I am getting his food ready, he will go in his crate and plop down and wait, out of the way. I did not have to teach him that.

When I am working in the office and Piper hears something outside, she will run to the door and bark her head off to let them know there is a ferocious dog inside. Then she will come to the office doorway and lie there "guarding" me. If someone is mowing the lawn, she will lie there until they are done and the "threat" has gone away. It is so sweet and she takes this job VERY seriously.

Every time I have my hair in a pony tail...Josie pulls out my "scrunchie" and no matter how many times I attempt to pull my hair back into a pony tail...she yanks it out!!! I'll try to get a short video if this next time...and post it.
