I really, really wanted to go to this, but I'm still in TN picking up my pups and not scheduled to be back in VT until Sat. I don't think I can turn right around and head to NYC. Maybe next year. Have fun, though!

Exhausted and Happy! A Wonderful Event!

We had a wonderful time at the AKC Meet-The-Breeds event at the Javits Center this past weekend. Next year we're bringing a clicker to count folks, but we know we gave out 500 HCA breed flyers, tons of GNYHC business cards and brochures and Havanese rescue information. Not only speaking with interested parties, but also having the opportunity to follow up and send 77 personal responses to folks who asked for even more information means that there are that many more interested parties doing due diligence when selecting a new puppy companion. Our dogs are exhausted (but not too exhausted for treats!), our feet still hurt and we probably are pretty terse with everyone until we get our batteries recharged, but we loved every minute of it!

Here's a link to photos from the event:

Many thanks to all the volunteers who set up, decorated, brought their dogs, greeted the public, kept us fed, schlepped, carried, smiled, and returned home exhausted every night! I want to take a moment to thank all the booth volunteers (in alphabetical order): Ann Barbaccia, Cindy Rostkowski, Fran Caci, Helene & Harry Jones, Joan Ambrose, Kristen Booth Glen, Marie Fiore, Marilyn Shapiro, Michele and Ralph Raiola, Pat Ross and Sharon Koehler. The GNYHC was honored to represent the breed at this wonderful event. Many thanks to the HCA for all their support.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

So glad we were able to help out a while this year. We had a great time, Kodi and Shelby included. They slept all the way home and only got up to eat. The show was amazing. The only time you get to see that many dogs up close and personal is at Westminster. Oh, and the cats were awesome, too. Hope we can do it again next year!
