DNA testing question

Has anyone heard about the Wisdom Panel MX from Mars Veterinary? http://www.wisdompanel.com
It is suppose to be a test to determine the breed/breeds of your dog.
Since my Lilly's breed is questionable I plan on having this done. Just interested in knowing if anyone else had heard of it?

The test doesn't cover purebred dogs and also says 1% of the dogs recognized by the AKC aren't covered by the test. They don't say which breeds aren't covered.
It would be interesting for fun though.

wonder why it wouldn't cover a pure breed? It does cover the Havanese thou so I am hopeing I will be able to tell with some accuracy. Do you think/know if the dna test the AKC does would affer me any info if this test shows she is Havanese?

At this time there isn't a DNA test to determine if a one has a purebred Havanese. There is currently DNA being collected to try to come up with this type of test, but there isn't one as of today. I wouldn't waste my money. Enjoy Lilly and love her as I am sure you no matter who her parents might be. <grin>

Personally I wouldn't want to "Ruin" My Love for My Hav with some "Test". I would rather just love my Hav for the wonderful little guy he is and not because someone else gets to say what he is.

I just wanted to know that she is a Havanese because folks say well they are rare so perhaps she is a bichon maltise mix. I just want her to be a havi so I can say she is with out feeling like I am lieing.
Does it matter to the other members if I can't prove she is a havi?

It doesn't matter to Me. If you think she's a Hav then she's a Hav. I'm good with that. Besides I'm sure she is. Just post some pics to find out what everyone here thinks.

Yeah sure thing. Like I said I'm sure she is a Hav. It seems to be pretty accurate with the measurements of her body including the legs and the gait.
