Exclamation Advice Needed on Two Issues. Please!

I am in email contact with a breeder in the Washington area. She has three adult females for rehoming. I am interested in a white and chocolate 2 & 1/2 half year old that she took in from a breeder going through a divorce. What questions should I ask other than the obvious health test questions? How many litters would the average 2 year old have produced? I am concerned but also feel strongly that I do not want these girls to end up in a breeding mill. I would immediately have her spayed. Also, ideas on the best way to introduce her and Sasha. I do plan on getting the book listed re multiple dogs. If anyone in the WA/OR area has ideas or knows the breeders here send me a PM and I will give you names in return for advice. I am trying very hard not to get to excited. Thank you.

Since you can't finish health testing until a dog is 2, they really shouldn't have more than one litter possible before they are 2 1/2. If this breeder who currently has them is reputable, she would NEVER let these girls end up in a puppy mill!

PM me the name of the breeder. If it's one particular one I know in Washington, I'd say it's approved with no questions asked.

Just click on Tom's name, and one of the options that will come up is private message. Click on that and you're good to go!

It is recommended that you introduce the two dogs on neutral territory. A park or pet supply store can be a good place, and it would be very helpful if a friend could help you by bringing one of the dogs with him or her.

Good luck. I know how exciting it can be..

I am looking forward to Friday. I spoke with Leela's breeder today and found out she does the testing recommended. She has Leela back with her because she sold her to the lady that had to give her up due to divorce. Stephanie requests that if any of her puppies need to be surrendered she get them back. She recommended a trial of 2 to 3 weeks to see if Leela and Sasha can be friends. If for any reason it does not work she wants her back. She is a very knowlegable woman and in a short conversation I learned more info about our Havs. I am excited I hope my baby feels the same after a few days. Oh, Leela is 2 & 1/2 years 10 1/2 " tall and 12-13lbs. Brown & white female.

Sounds like she really cares about her dogs. That's great! Good luck!
