Is it just me....

or does anyone else get all hot under the collar when you see folks standing on the side of the ROAD holding up a puppy like it is a sign?!
Oh, and they have on a warm coat and fuzzy hat, but puppy is only in birthday suit.
I don't know if they are selling/giving away the puppy, or just using it as a lure to stop and buy their firewood!

There's also Walmart's parking lot on Sat. afternoon. Pick up groceries and a new puppy in the same trip...

Sigh. I know this is not feasible or even right, but, a part of me would prefer it if anybody who wanted to breed their dog had to get some sort of license for it...

(and, while I am not entirely anti-government, I DO think that for the most part, the gov't should not be involved in regulating stuff like this in general - so, that shows you how much I HATE it when puppies are bred without thought for their futures... or genetic histories, or health, or anything... ...)

I actually am not against dogs making puppies, even if they are mutts or mixed breeds. It's their nature. But when you look at how many animals are put down ever year - no, not every year, just even every DAY - here in the US, it makes absolutely NO sense to breed a dog (on purpose, or, simply not to get your dog fixed or neutered), no matter what breed or lineage they have, if you are not absolutely CERTAIN that ALL of the puppies will get good homes...

...Stepping off of my soapbox now...
