Change in Behaviour

I am looking for any advice...

My 3 year old Havanese has recently started to become aggressive towards my husband and I. He is still 99% affectionate and always follows me around, however he likes to sleep in our closet. When either of us go to get him out of the closet to go for a walk or something he starts to growl - he has not bitten or anything just growling and I don't know why the sudden aggression or what it means or how to stop it ?

We have tried closing the closet door but he then acts the same if he finds a new 'sleeping spot'....

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks in advance

Jemmax

I don't have any answers except to tell you that Lizzie growls at us when she is sleeping and you bother her. She likes the back of the couch and will growl if we get to close to her. She also sleeps between DH and my pillow and if we get to close she will growl. This is not a change in behavior for her though.

This is a change in behaviour which is why I need some advice. Max is so affectionate and always follows me around and loves to snuggle...that is why I don't understand the growling if you try and get him out of the closet / or wherever he is 'snoozing' - it has only been in the last couple of months and I can't think of anything that would have triggered this change :-(

Milo always growls at me if I disturb him while he's sleeping. He didn't always do this. It was an acquired habit. I know a lot of them do it. I think perhaps it's because they get into a deep sleep and being awakened suddenly shocks them a little.

I think a good place to start would be to make an appointment at your vet for complete examine to see if something is going on physically. Blood work too. Please keep us posted!!
