Smile New to the Forum

Hi everyone! So glad to have found this forum. I have never been owned by a Havanese and have just started to research this lovely breed. We live in Canada and have reached a point in our lives where we feel able to properly care for a wee little dog. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

to the forum. There are a few Canadians here. What part of Canada are you from? Check out the Canadian Havanese Fanciers web site.

http://www.havanesefanciers.com/

You will find lots of great information on the breed and how to find a good breeder. This forum is a great source for information too. If you can't find something just ask.

Oh and when you do find that special pup. We want to see pictures, lots of pictures.

Good luck on your search.

Hey Icy_pt!
to this lovely forum! This is the perfect place to ask all your Q's about our beloved Havanese. I'm waiting on my puppy to be born on September. There are MANY helpful people on this forum and there are quite a few Canadians who can surely help you finding a good breeder near you. I'm sure they'll introduce themselves to you very quickly, but here are a few of the Canadian people's names: Marj, Ryan (freeway1976) and Derek. Those are the ones that come to my mind. I'm a newbie here too, so don't expect too much from me
Maryam.

Welcome to the forum!! Wish you all the best in your venture! Havanese are THE best dogs in the world(not my opinion, its a fact ). But one word of caution, you WILL develop MHS-Multiple Havanese Syndrome. So just be prepared to get more than one. They are addictive. We have many people here from Canada so if you need a breeder referral etc..they can help. Do you have any specific questions or concerns?

My family moved to Quebec from Ontario almost two years ago and I must say that my high school french did not prepare me but we LOVE it here! The reason I've started looking at the Havanese was because of their sweet dispostions and their size. I have a challenged daughter that would love to have a pet and I'm hoping to get some guidance on whether these sweet little dogs would be a good choice. Looking forward to chatting with you. Thanks.

Hi Pat, On the forum is "Julie" she got her Quincy to help with her "Special Needs" boy Robbie. She can tell you more. Also there is a thread here about "special children" and their families, here is the link.

I think the Havanese will be a good choice.

Thanks Trish! Your baby is sooo cute! What made you decide to grab a Hav? I know they're very intelligent and loving and not toooo big. All the reasons I'm doing my homework on them.

to the Forum! Of course, I also think Havanese are the best!!. They do have a sweet disposition. Maddie is the second Havanese we've bought. I've never bought the same breed twice, but once you have a Havanese, that settles it! Good luck with your future pup!

Welcome to the forum You have made a great choice in the Havanese. They are smart, loving, funny, sweet and little. They love children, so it is a great choice. Just make sure you research the breeder thoroughly and you will be enchanted by the Havanese. They steal your heart in a second and it won't be too long before you develope MHS!
