We picked her up this last Sunday and she is one sweet puppy! The long trip home (from Czech Republic to the Netherlands) went without any car sickness or anxiety. She did really well.
The moment she wakes up the party begins, and I'm happy every time she finally decides it's time to sleep again lol. 8½ weeks old today and weighs 4.1 lbs. I'm pleased to say that so far she has been one good eater
Fedja is not so sure what to think about her
. He tolerates her well, correcting her occasionally when she gets to close up in his face, but the good thing is that she then just walks away to find someone else to tease lol.
Yesterday when I came from a walk with Fedja the first thing he did was to check her crate to see if she was still there waging his tail like crazy. I could tell that he was happy to see her. I'm feeling very confident that the two of them will become big friends in time. Fedja never wants to do anything with a puppies, so his behavior toward her at the moment is very normal (not wanting to play, ignoring her etc).
It's really interesting to watch how different she is frome Fedja when he was a puppy. He was so easy, never into any trouble, never biting, and he didn't make any sound for the first 2 or 3 weeks. I thought he didn't know how to bark lol. He still is very quiet, rarely barking or making noices. Sasha is usually quiet as well, except when playing. When she gets really excited she barks and growls from playfulness.
One other big difference...she is a born cuddle bug! The best place to come to when time to rest is my lap, neck, head lol, or anywhere close enough to me. She is crazy about belly rubs, and the moment I touch her belly she goes on her back, so sweeeet
. I'm used to massage the belly working around the 'rocket' lol, so it feels very strange that there is nothing in my way when giving her belly rubs lol.
For the first time I understand what a 'happy go lucky' phrase really means. On the other hand I feel so sad for Fedja now, because I'm starting to believe that based on his puppy behavior he has to had some health issues even then. He takes the life so seriously, except when playing fetch
. I truly hope that Sasha (we have a second thoughts about her name lol, some how it doesn't seem to suit her) will learn him to enjoy life more.
Here are some obligatory pictures :-D.
This one was taken the first day in our hotel room we were staying at in Prague.
