Near freak out - what a dork

I just flipped out because I couldn't find Gryff. Duh, I brought him to the groomer two hours ago. It's so weird when he's not here.

I once was supposed to pick up my then-preschool age son from school for a skating lesson. I was rushing around, made and packed his and my lunch, threw the skate in to the car and rushed to the rink... then turned around, looked in the booster seat and realized I'd never picked the KID up from school.

It took me SEVERAL years to live that one down!

I am greatly relieved to know I'm not the ONLY one who forgets what I did when, and then freaks out because I can't find my dog!

From a dog perspective, my friends are always laughing at me when we have the dogs loose in the woods. We'll be talking as we walk along, and all of a sudden, I'll realize I can't see Kodi, and call him. Then I get concerned because I'm scanning around and don't see him. (and he has a REALLY good recall) They will snicker at me, and point behind me... Kodi will be right at my heels, turning as I turn, so I can't see him. If I would only STOP and turn my HEAD first!!!

"Brain Blip" I have them all the time. Sometimes I'll be driving my car and I need to remind myself who I'm picking up. When my kids were younger we car pooled to and from day camp, I had a mini van at the time, and at the end of my route I realized I got everyone else's kids but mine. I had to drop all the kids off and go back to camp to get mine, that was hard to live down too!

The girl was busy playing with the toy I had said Ok I would buy and did not look until we were at the car, then she screamed (I think we both did) and started crying for Mommy, in the mean time her Mom was with my child and a young box boy who kept asking "are you sure this one is not yours". My daughter loves to tell this story.
