Exclamation Toxic Toy Warning

March 2, 2012
If you have this toy in your dogs toybox, destroy it. Seems now we have to watch for toys too.. Althought this one is from Petco, they can be in any store or catalog.

OMG! Did you watch the video attached? That is so frightening that we can't even buy dog toys without concern that they are poisoned, food...I can see the potential, DOG toys? Arsenic and moth ball poison? Really? I actually bought a few small toys from Petco this year for Gucci's stocking..I am throwing them away as soon as I get home.. Did they do an official recall yet? unbelievable.

What scares me is for every reported incident there are many, many going unreported. And it is not just Petco...Petco is not the only source/outlet for these dangerous toys.
It just really makes me angry that we cannot go out and buy a dog toy without worrying!
Of course it spills over into other areas, human foods, clothing, etc., also..I know.

Flynn - thanks for posting about this dangerous toy. As others said, it's really scary, in the sense that who knows how many OTHER toys intended for dogs might have problems as well.

We live in a crazy, crazy world.

Glad to see the dog Charlotte recovered. But there could be lingering permanent damage, I suppose. Hope not.

I know!!

I guess I am partially lucky that Gucci has gravitated towards human toys the last few years. Last year it was a little stuffed puppy from Walgreens that flashed a red light and said "Merry Christmas ruff ruff ruff" (which I had to buy 10 of)

THIS year, she is partial to pull toy pets. She destroys them after about a month, but I keep restocking from CVS.. she eventually pulls the tail enough times it quits jiggling and breaks it..and darn it if they aren't made in China!!

I just tossed the petco stuffed toys. Its sad they don't regulate! IT would seem if they regulate children's toys for lead, etc. why not test the pet toys too?

That is so sad, it seems we need to watch out for everything these days. My first line of defense is to not buy anything made in China, sad but not willing to take any chances. Timmy has a lot of toys thankfully none from Petco, but he does like the stuffed squeaky ones. My daughter is very creative, maybe I should have her make Timmy some toys from now on.

Firstly, I'm impressed to see this was actually discovered by investigative journalists. I honestly thought that had become an oxymoron. Kudos to Houston!

Anyone know where this toy was made? Betting China . . .

Unfortunately, I've spent a very small fortune on toys and the ONLY ones Isabella will play with are the little stuffed dog toys from TJ Max. It's as though they're filled with the dog equivalent of cat nip or something
