Rally? Agility? Hav Ambassador?

We had such a busy day on Sunday that I wasn't sure where to post, so I put it in the "General" category.<g>

We started our day as the first dog in the first class of our Rally Trial. This was Kodi's first Excellent run, and we got our first leg and fourth place. (Kodi was WAY more excited about the squeaky toy prize!

Ten it was off the the R.I. Pet Expo in Providence RI for Agility demos with our training center. It's amazing how far he has come in a year. Last year, I was nervous he might leave the ring out into the crowd, or that he'd just be too distracted by all the people, noise different footing, etc, to be able to run. He did fine, but with lots of cookies to keep his attention. This year he was like a seasoned pro. I set him on the start line, sent him to his first obstacle and he just ran. He also pleased the crowds by showing off his two "party tricks", walking on his hind legs and "dancing" (twirling in circles on his hind legs)

In between demos, he rode around the expo in his stroller, greeting everyone with typical Havanese cheer. The folks from Acadia Antlers were there, so we stopped by to say "hello". They gave Kodi a NEW antler, which he enthusiastically accepted, and said to thank all the forum members who have ordered from them.

It was a fun day, but we both pretty much wore ourselves out. I think we'll plan a quiet week!

Sounds like you both had a fun and busy day. I can think of no better ambassador on how smart, fun, and wonderful the Havanese breed, then your Kodi.

I can see Kodi now doing his up on hind legs spinning around. Sounds like you too have come a long way in a year.

What fun, Karen! Sounds exhausting for you and just a ball for Kodi.

I would like to see pictures of him in the stroller. How's he stay in there w/out wanting to jump out? That's so cute.

Most doggie strollers have netting or screen that can keep the dog inside plus most also have a tether that you can clip into the dog's collar.

Yes, our stroller has both. When we were in our crating area, and I wanted him to rest, I closed up the front and put a blanket over it. But when we're walking around, I just clip his collar to the tether, and leave it open so he can see out better. I don't think he'd jump out anyway, but it keeps him safe.
