smelling sweet

I know Hav's are not supposed to smell. And Jasper and Cash rarely smell, but the room they spend a lot of time in has begun to smell like dog. There are two chairs in there that are their "thrones" and I think they are the culprit. So last weekend I washed all the cushion covers and let the cushions sit outside for 8 hours I washed the floors three times and hosed down the floor mat-- Then I washed the dogs. (yes-I got a little obsessive)

But the thing I wanted to share was I got these lavender dryer sachets from Trader Joes-- They are like big tea bags filled with lavender buds. you are supposed to put them in the dryer when you dry clothes- and can use one sachet for 10 loads. I don't use them this way because of skin allergies-- but what I did was I put a few of them inside the boys cushions between the pillow and the cover-- now every time they lay on their thrones their body heat releases this lovely subtle fragrance. And the room smells great. I know lavander doesn't bother my guys because they are always chewing and romping through my lavander plants.

Hey, great idea. My lavendar blooms are at the end and drying out. I almost cut them all off yesterday, but now you've given me another idea. Thanks for sharing!

That is a great idea - I have a trader Joes that is about 1 hour away, but have never been there - so I should get the lavendar sachets but not the baby carrots!! I think that I would put them in the beds in their crates!!
Thanks for the tip!

I'll have to check those out. I am surrounded by Trader Joe's. I also get the oil diffusers at Pier One. They work great and are about the cheapest I've found.

Kara, you should think of opening one up in your town. The first time I ever saw one was in Tucson and thought it would be a great idea. Within 2 mos of me being back home, they opened up the first one, which is about 10 mins from me. The 2nd one is about 2 mins from where I work and # 3 is a 20 min drive from my house.

Kara, you should open up YOUR OWN boutique and sell all the things you make that I can't understand how you have the time or energy for --- YOU could sell clothing, home made jerky, and I bet by time you see this post (my 1001st post) you will have already made lavender sachets....

LOL!

Like the faux mink bed, coat and collar and leash that is on my list to make? I bought the fabric a week ago and haven't even started ONE thing yet.

I have an idea for Halloween I'll have to start moving on that.

I have YET to do the jerky, just got the machine yesterday, I'm thinking..Tuesday I will have time, maybe Wednesday?

LOL......I need MORE hours in the day, after I'm done with whatever work, there is housework, or cleaning, or laundry......and then there's Gucci...and her needs...and then there is this forum (the lure keeps pulling me back) and then.....I sleep! Wake up and start over again!

Okay, I am going to have to manage my time better this week! I need to get something on the game plan done. *sigh*

My husband's always telling me to sell stuff, too. Maybe I should? lol
