Names LOL

I was pulling out my "house training for dummies" to give to my sister in law who just go a new poodle puppy to keep her Havanese Lucy and her son happy-- and I found the list of names that tucked in there that we had come up with before we got Jasper. Jasper wasn't even starred LOL. But the funny thing is, is how many names that are on the list that belong to forum members- we even had a "Nigel" a "Beamer" and a "Bubbaloo" down.

Because I am feeling sentimental just having posted my 1000th post and all - I thought I would share the list with you all and re-live that exciting time before the Jassy came home-- who knows may inspire some new members with new little ones to name. (OK it was a very long list)

Bailey, Rudy(what we were calling Jasper before he came home.) Jesse, Bubbaloo, Toby, Diego, Fido, Rover, Fidel, Sonny, Buddy, Gulliver, Casey, Joey, Ajax, Fiddler ( I really liked that name- but some one told me it may become self fufilling) Flash, Wiley, Yogi, Woodstock, Karma, Baxter, Nigel, Clyde, Biscuit, Benny, Buford, Jack, Cuba, Dart, Picasso, Earl, Lego, Ferris, Gilbert, Godfrey, Gus, Clifforf, Cotton, Jasper (buried in the middle of the list) Nash, Izzy, Jeep, Jamie, Jordon, King, Kugel, Levi, Cesar, Navaho, Narnia, Nicky, Opie, Ossie, Opus, Neo, Clint, Cherokee, Poppy, Pan, Picadilly, Rufus ( oh my god I had a Rufus too) Drew, Venice, Walt, Wolf, Xray, Yoda, Luke, Zuni, Zoey, Zenith, Zeke, Zak, Dallas, Houston(oh my) Chase, Bogart, Oscar, Rhett, Elijah, Miles, Moses, Oliver, Marley, Owl, Shepherd, Noah, Madison, Beau, Blue, Buddha, Quinn, Pi ....

Naming Cash (like most things he does) was very easy. I just said if I get a black dog I want to name it Cash and Michael said OK - and he responded to it right away.

I came close to naming Milo Bailey. I love that name but a friend of mine had recently gotten a lowchen and named him bailey, so . . .
Maybe the next one.

Just Milo and me, and . . . Bailey makes three . . . until Ruby said, "hey, what about me?"

I admit to being a "name game" addict. When ever someone has a pet, a business, a child (I'm a little bit more reserved with children) I just can't stop---
friends of ours just got a cat and we went over to visit and spent the time coming up with names-- and then when we left I just kept pulling out names--- a few here, a few there, a few after the goodnight kiss. Michael finally had to say "stop already" LOL

I love the names everyone on the forum has come up with for their dogs. They all seem to fit their personalities. I think they kind of ket us know what to name them.

Kodi was going to be Casey, but his breeder had named him Kodiak and we just shortened it to Kodi. It really fits him. Shelby was going to be Cassy or Maggie, but my cousing had a Boxer named Maggie that died, so Maggie was out. We started calling her Cassy, but she didn't like it. Her sire's name is Shelby and I liked it, so we started calling her Shelby, and she liked it too. I guess it sounded familiar to her.
