Hi Erika, and a Big Fat Welcome from Camellia and me.

I like Finley, myself! Your pup sounds absolutely adorable! You'll have to keep us posted on how he is doing!

So what have you acquired so far for your pup? If you post a list, maybe some people would be willing to make additional suggestions!

Very glad you're here; I love this forum!

I didn't even think of posting a list good idea. This is what I have so far:

ex-pen
stainless steel bowls
dog bed
toys
collar/leash
doggie door
nail clippers

I am still research dog foods, since still have some time. I know I am missing stuff that I need, like combs/brushes but I am researching those as well.

Thanks all for your warm welcome!

Many people here (me included) suggest a harness instead of a collar. Their necks are small and fragile especially at the age they come home to you!

Are you going to crate him at night?

I also suggest a few fleece blankets. When they're potty training sometimes they get pee on their underside after the fact (especially boys...) or they walk in it by accident, and then get it on their bed. A couple fleece blankets gives some options to be able to substitute out something soft to lay on while the bed is in the wash. I had trouble finding baby sized fleece blankets, so I just got a cheap throw size, and it works ok.

Start with asking your breeder about what food he/she uses. Sometimes that's a good place to start. Even if you switch food, you'll need a small bag of whatever they use to be able to slowly mix it and change it out.

We put a scrap piece of linoleum under Trooper's expen so that if he does have an accident in there, it's easy to clean up.

Microfiber dog towel makes drying him a lot easier because they soak up a lot of water off of him.

Nature's Miracle

Bitter Apple

Shampoo/Conditioner (I'd start with asking the breeder about this too, they've probably tried a million and know what works on the mom and dad.)

UMMMM...

a cute tshirt.

angiern2004- Thanks for all the advice I knew I came to the right place.

I haven't decided on the crate training yet. I know that a lot of people are really for it. I havent done it with any of my prior dogs but I am leaning towards yes.

Is there a brand/type of harness that you like best/suggest?

Maybe this a dumb question but what is the bitter apple for I havent heard of that? A cute shirt is for sure on our list!
