Procrastinator Pooper!

Jack procrastinates when he goes outside! Dexter will do his business and will be ready to go back inside within a few minutes. I usually give the boys time to explore and smell junk, but when Dexter has done his exploring and smelling, he does his business, then we head back to the front porch.

Well.....I call Jack and on our way back, Jack will make a quick detour to do his business, then we are on our way back inside.

Anyone else have a procrastinator pooper?

Brody will do his business lickety-split inside on the Ugodog.

Outside, it's a different matter that involves 1 trillion circles, pacing back and forth and heaven forbid something startle him (like a bird flying by) because this will set the schedule back to the beginning. And if he senses I'm getting exasperated with him, that will also halt progress.

Inside he just runs over to his Ugodog, circles a couple of times and goes and it's all over and done with in under a minute.

How long have you used the Urgodog? How long did it take to train them to use it? I would love a second place for the boys to potty if we can not get out fast enough. Do they pee & poo at the same Urgodog place?

Gabby uses one of those. She trained to it easily, but she was young when trained. She takes care of business quick, both pee and poo, and yes same place.

Brody has used the Ugodog since I first got him. He figured out the pooping on it pretty quick, but it took longer to get him to consistently pee on it. He still seems to prefer using that to going outside, but he's better with outside now. (at work he goes outside).

One thing I really like about it is that if I go somewhere and bring it with me, he immediately knows that's an OK spot to go to the bathroom. It's very helpful for hotel rooms, etc. I find with him, he's reluctant to go in unfamiliar environments, so at least the Ugodog is familiar to him.

Sissy is my procrastinator.......takes her forever and the smallest little thing distracts her and then she has to start all over....I've timed it a few times and it can actually take 20 minutes..........the only time it's really a problem is trying to get to work in the morning....

I've wondered the same thing about the Ugodog....if you can train them to use one of those once they are trained to go out without confusing them where to go......I haven't found any posts about this.......I started out trying to use the pee pads and even bought they holder for them but they were still able to shred them to bits......anyone ever re-train to use a different potty method than outside????

Sergio goes quick first thing in the morning and when I take him outside when I get home from work. So 2x a day he REALLY has to go and it won't take long. The other 2x he procrastinates up to 20 minutes. He won't poop in the rain.

I would like to work with him on "go quick!"

I really thought at first I wanted Sergio to go inside (potty system) and outside. I am glad now he just goes outside and holds it inside. It can be a pain sometimes to get out, but it's also a social thing for me because lots of other people are outside with their dogs. And no cleaning an indoor potty system. I really couldn't find a place in my apartment for an indoor potty system.
