Lurking for months..Introducing Izzy
Finally got my daughter to help put my avatar up, and some pictures in the album. Realized from reading all of your posts that pictures are necessary...so can finally say hello and a very BIG THANK YOU!
Our Izzy is a year and half old and an absolute joy. We have always had really big dogs so this was a big change but such a good one for this retired couple. I am not sure why this one is so very special but she has absolutely stolen our hearts.
Your have all helped me so much...right from the beginning...with potty training...socialization....feeding....crate training...tricks...leash training...food...tear staining....etc. etc. etc.
Everything I have done, hopefully done right, is due to reading all of your posts and my gratitude is boundless.
One of the best is how to groom your own dog. The groomer is approx. two hours away (we live in Maine) and it was quite an expense. Several people had suggested Jodi Murphy's video and I am trying very hard to improve in that area (actually pleased to say I am not doing too bad).
Just a little bit about us... we are in our 70's.... have five children and 10 grandchildren. Moved to the little town of Robbinston, Maine (400 people)
and ran a Bed and Breakfast and antique store for 20 years. Retired and built a lovely home, in the woods, on Passamaquoddy Bay.
So with all this time on our hands we are going to pick up a baby sister for Izzy in a couple of weeks. Her name will be Bella.....can't wait to see how all of this will go. Izzy is definitely my velcro dog and I don't want to hurt her feelings...oh well I did ok with five children ...when the oldest was only six...so I guess I can do this.
Sorry for such a long post...promise to be more concise in the future.
Thanks again to all of you...and your beautiful fur babies and the expertise they have given to you all. Hope my avatar shows up!!!!
