Thank heavens....a good outcome. It almost makes your heart skip a beat when you hear or read something like that.
Someone on the forum, named Dave, posts a lot of good suggestions, posted a link to a whistle recall. I am sorry but not sure where or what. I did what this training session suggested....whistle blowing and intensive treating...couple times a day. It seemed to suggest that it would take a while....well I am so proud Izzy responded almost immediately.
We still practice everyday, once or twice, a whistle is always around our neck when we take her for a walk and one hangs by the door. I can hide and she finds me and I mean immediately stops what she is doing and frantically runs to me.The article stated that it was one of the most important things...calling your dog in an emergency situation...Worked for us.
Maybe search whistle, if you can't find it let me know and I will try to locate the article. I printed it out but have misplaced it.
