Reaction to Change in the potty environment
Brody is totally resistant to going to the bathroom in new areas.
When we drove across British Columbia (and part of Alberta) he would NOT go at any place I stopped and held it until we hit the hotel and I got his Ugodog out and ready for him. I think next time I do it, I'll have his Ugodog more easily accessible to get out at wherever I stop.
At home he uses the Ugodog. At work he goes outside. He has his spots he wants to go to. When it first snowed he was not happy at losing his familiar terrain and refused to go. I hate it when this happens because then he's not safe to let out of his Xpen at work when I know he definitely has to go, but hasn't.
After a while he got used to going on snow. Now the snow is melting and it's mud puddle season so a lot of the areas he likes to go are bogs and we aren't going in there, so he has limited spots I'll take him to plus the snow is gone and he's just not happy about the "new" surfaces. So, we've been back to me taking him out and him refusing to go. Some days he's held it until 3:30 or 4 before finally deigning to go! Normally he likes to go about every 3 hours.
I know this will pass, just like it did when the snow season started. It sort of makes me laugh because it's just so quirky and so very typically Brody.
Anyone else have Havs that are like this?
