Jasper's vet visit

I took Jasper to the vet this morning. Nothing was wrong, just his one year visit and a booster shot.
He weighs 12 1/2 lbs.
I like the vet we are seeing now and the people there are super friendly, but I'm not really happy about his exam. It seemed waaay too short and fast. She asked me if he was eating and drinking ok, looked in his ears, felt his belly, and took his temp. Don't they usually do more?

Has anyone ever used Advantage Multi? I bought a month's supply for Jasper to see how it works. It's supposed to be for fleas and heartworms.

Also, has anyone ever used Cerenia for car sickness? I bought a couple of pills for him because we are going camping this weekend.

The most important things are that you are comfortable, trust that your vet will take the time to address any real concerns you may have, it you ask. Vets sometimes have really busy days, so if a pup comes in that is healthy, they would'nt spend a lot of time. Now if your pup had an issue, your vet would have taken time. Now if the Vet is having a slower day they often take time to chat, and then sometimes you have to draw them out. I seem to go to the Vet sooo much lately that I would be happy to have a quick visit! As our dogs age that is when Vets often take more time even on well dog visits. Happy to hear all is well.

Robbie, Boo Boo, Yogi, and Misty's human.
Poohkey miss you, monkey.

I guess you're right. It seemed kind of quick to me but they did ask me if I had any concerns and answered all of my questions.

There aren't too many things that could go 'wrong' with a pup that the owner wouldn't have some inkling of before the vet visit. Those that can would be picked up with a brief physical exam (ie like heart murmur). Otherwise, sick dogs act sick. And with a yr old pup, you're just making sure they're growing - did they gain weight, are they over/underweight, are their teeth in correctly, do they eat, do they poop. Mostly you're there to get the booster, and the vet keeps an eye out for issues (ie does your dog need to lose weight, have bad tooth plaque) that result in real problems down the line. They also observe the dog's behavior and gait, which can tell them a lot.

Plus an efficient, very thorough human physical exam can take 5-10 minutes.

I'm not really sure. The first day I gave it to him and we drove to the campsite and he got all the way there before he threw up, so I took that as a good sign since it was about a 45 minute drive over some hills. He normally can't make it more than 20 minutes in the car. Then the day we came back home I gave it to him but he ended up throwing up after only about 20 minutes on the way home.

So mixed results...

Did it stop the drooling? Whisky drools so so much, I would almost be okay with the throw up, but the drooling makes her look so pitiful and sad

I'm not sure about the drooling. Jasper never drooled much anyway and he was crated in the back so I didn't see any. Sorry.

I'd for sure try it. It might help for you.
