Question Beamer Whining in his crate!

Ok, for the last few nights and acouple last week, Beamer has been whining at bed time when in his crate.. I don't understand it.. He has enjoyed being in his crate since day 1 and has never whined while in it at bedtime..

I've been taking him out of the crate and putting him on our bed and he is fine. I wait until he falls aleep and then gently pick him up and put him in his crate and he is fine..

I hope this does not happen all the time now!

Anyone ever go through this oddness before?

Thanks!
Ryan

Beamer enjoys the bed better than the crate I would assume!!
Duncan has been in his crate since day 1 and he still will ocassionally whine when we put him in,but we just shush him and then he goes to sleep.
I'm guessing that once they get the taste and feel of the bed why go into the crate????
I'd love to have DUncan sleep with us,but hubby is having no part of it.Gotta start wearing him down some!!!

Oh, oh, hope you have a big bed, Ryan. That's how it starts, little whines, daddy putting him in bed for a while. Now I sleep with dogs in my bed, and I don't mean DH.

Why should he be quiet when he now realizes when he cries sometimes he will get to be on the bed! lol

I have to say(so far) i have been lucky with Jax. When he is tired he will stand by our bedroom door or just stare at us until we are ready for bed. Then when we open the bedroom door he RUNS to where his crate is jumping up so i can put him in. In fact we put him on our bed & he still wants in his crate. He really doesnt like the bed. Thank goodness.
Now Tripp & Dreamer LOVE our bed & would love to sleep there. BUT........no!

Hmm, Ryan, if you really want him to sleep in the crate, I would ignore that whining.

Yeah.. i guess he just wants to be in bed with us... ??
Maybe his crate is getting to small for him? Could that be it? He cannot fully stretch out I noticed.. and thats how he sleeps much of the time when out of his crate... Should I try a larger crate now? He will deffinatly need a larger one soon I would think.. so maybe get it now?
Or he might just be sulking cause he wants on the bed...ughhh

Oh, and by the way.. the whinning he is doing is the most PATHETIC thing you have ever seen or heard in your life... its the weirdest whine.. lol... when we put the lights on last night to see what was going on, he was lying down in the crate staring at us and whinning while his mouth was kinda open... a very weak whine.. like almost gasping for air type of thing... it was so funny, we started cracking up.. like we could not containe ourselves it was so funny.. poor beamie..

That brings me to my next question...

How do you guys sleep on a bed with your dogs?? So, its me and my wife on a queen size bed.. and we are fairly short... I'm scared of rolling ontop or kicking him off the bed?!?! lol Where do your guys sleep on the bed??
Is it time to get a King or time to send the wife off to the spare bedroom?
