First day of doggie daycare

Gemma finally got the last of her shots last week and today is her first day of daycare. My other dog has been going once a week for the past 2 years and absolutely loves it. I'm eager to see how little Gemma likes it! It's a fantastic daycare and they even have a "daycare van" that picks them up at my house and drops them off at the end of the day. I'm working late tonight so they have the keys to my house and will put the dogs in their crates. I love coming home from a long day at work to exhausted dogs who are happy to see me!

I have never heard of a daycare that picks up and delivers! That is amazing. You are lucky to live near such a facility.

Sounds like an amazing set up.
Do they keep all the dogs together or are they somewhat segregated?
How many dogs do they have at a time?

So glad it is working so well for you...sure is better then leaving them home all alone.

Sounds sad..."home all alone".......sounds happy....doggie daycare!!!!!

You pay a ridiculous amount for the shuttle but it's the only way I can use the daycare since Im on call at the hospital and the daycare is on an acreage outside the city. They segregate the dogs into play groups that get along together (usually based on size bit not always). My labradoodle (60lbs) often is with the little dogs since she likes them better and she is gentle with them. They also have a groomed on site so they can get a hairdo while there. I board my dogs as well and know they will have a great time (the pup hasn't boarded, just my big dog). They have a Facebook site and often post photos during the day so you can see what the dogs are up to.

The dogs did great and were so exhausted they slept the whole next day.

That is great! Ozzie has spent his first 2 days at day care going 1/2 time to get used to it and will go his first full day this week. I think it's harder for me to let him go but mine has a doggy cam so I can watch him on my phone. I have a hard time getting much work done though!!! I decided to send him because he's an only child and I wanted him to spend more time around other dogs
