Feeding question

I just started transitioning Django from Herring (California Natural) kibble to Acana Duck and pear kibble. HE loves the duck. ANyone feed duck to their hav that has allergy issues? WE tried kangaroo (didn't like it) and venison (too hard). I'd love to hear any feedback. Thanks

Roki is on duck. In the morning he gets that Acana duck and pear and in the evening it is home cooked duck meat with some veggies. He also gets organic duck or rabbit jerky as treats. He is happy with it and I think most of his food intolerances/allergies are gone. One crucial thing is to completely avoid all cereal stuff (especially corn and wheat), glutens, soy, milk and dairy products. Go to Dogtor J web page - a lot of very interesting stuff about food intolerance and food allergy.

Joey is also on duck, and has no issues. Totally agree with rokipiki, avoiding wheat, soy and corn has helped. Joey also cannot tolerate beef.

I guess beef is a common problem for havs. Joey has only had beef by gnawing on a bully stick for about 15 minutes at a time, but each time he had the bully stick, he had verrrrry soft poops, so no more bully stick! I recently got him a Himalayan chew, and he doesn't seem to have any problems with that. It's dairy though, so it may not be good for Django. BTW-Is that his picture in your avatar? He is sooooo cute!
