Rodentia

I know hav's are bred to be companion dogs, but I'm curious if any of your cutie pies chase mice, rats, squirrels or gophers? there is a gopher that just started to dig up the side yard (in front on my house).

thx in advance.

Mine chases squirrels, but I think my other dog taught her that. Still not sure if she thinks it's vermin to be chased or if she thinks it's a strange looking dog that she wants to play with.

Mine chases squirrels, chipmunks, and deer. Thank goodness he's never caught up to one.

Kodi chases squirrels. He's not very smart about it though... He keeps circling the bottom of the tree, with his nose to the ground. I don't think he's figured out that they go UP!

That's funny Karen. Jack does the same thing. In fact, every time I open the back door, Jack takes off and goes around the deck like a jet hoping he can find a squirrel that just took off from the deck. The squirrels love my birdfood.

Timmy walks daily with his lady harem of 2 retrievers (Misty and Shelly) a terrier (Daisy) and a greyhound (Anna) who all LOVE to chase anything that moves. Timmy follows the crowd but has no idea what they are doing, it's very funny. Yesterday the four of them saw a chipmunk run into the bushes and they all ran in after it, Timmy ran in too but came right back out, wish I had that on video. He was clueless.

Ours, a 3-year old female, chases squirrels, rabbits, and sometimes birds. No clue about deer, however. She has not seen another dog chase them, so she picked it up on her own. Probally goes for the movement, like chasing a ball or throw toy. There are plenty of squirrels in the backyard, but she only chases occasionally.

Jasmine is interested in squirrels and birds, she will stalk them. My other dog does not even notice them so this is behavior she developed on her own. It's funny to watch her sit while she stares at them, and then ever-so-slowly her little butt rises off the ground...and she's off!

Riley has never even taken notice of any squirrel or bird. He does like to "play" with the snails that come out on my patio at night. EWWW! Are you asking because you need a gopher chaser? If so, I think the big dogs should do it.
