Cappy's Growing Up

Realized I take a lot of pics of Cappy and the folks on this forum may be just the people who understand and would enjoy them Happy to report Cappy is now a certified therapy dog and we're having lots of fun visiting the nursing home and the hospital patients.

awwwww, love the pics!! Isn't Cappy young still? For some reason I think of him as a puppy still! LOL
Tillie and I are at the begining stages of therapy dog training! I'd love to hear your stories and advice! Which organization did you go through??

He looks great with the red. Hope he has lots of fun (and you too) making the residents smile.

Tammy - We went through Therapy Dogs International Inc. They organization that has the contract at our local hospitals uses them. They insure you for up to (I think) $500 million if there is an accident of some sort while you're doing therapy work in an approved program. If Tillie has basic manners and is calm on leash, even around strangers and a new environment, then it's no problem.

ha ha ha .. calm on leash around strangers... one of the bigger things we have to work on! LOL We are going through Rx Pets. Testing is in October.
Her biggest "problem" is that she loves people TOO much and has a really, REALLY hard time not loving them to death! LOL She HAS to stop jumping up on peoples legs, but it is SO hard because people are like, 'oh, it's okay, she's SO cute!" and I'm like "NO, really, it is NOT okay for her to jump, she'll fail the test!!" LOL sigh.
I am almost wondering if I should wait another year, to have more time to train and hope that she'll lose just a tad of that exhuberance...
