I Don't Like Mondays

My boy cracks me up. I'm not sure if he'd be like this naturally on his own or if he picked it up from me.

He quickly learned that the alarm clock going off in the morning doesn't mean we are getting up. Now he just looks at me like, "Mom, quick, turn it off!" and snuggles back up against me.

He's fast becoming a hater of Monday mornings when we are back to getting up early for work. The past two Mondays he's refused to get up and just snuggled back into the bed.

Normally he has his morning constitutional first thing. Today he didn't even go to the bathroom by the time I had to leave for work. Thankfully he did pee once we got to work, but he still hasn't had his morning poop. He's sound asleep in his crate now.

He's such a lazy boy - just like his dear old ma. ha ha

haha, can't wait for Jasmine to be lazy in the mornings - she's so excited to see the cat every morning that if I don't get her outside asap there may be a little piddle accident!

Yeah, it's a big change...when I first got him, he was up at 5am raring to go. I was so tired those first few months!

I can relate! My girl prefers to sleep in and will look and 'huff' at me when my phone alarm goes off. Sometimes, I will wake up and set the timer for 30 minutes to sleep in and its so funny, she sees me fiddling with my phone and flops down because she knows i'm not getting up. They watch EVERY little thing we do

I'm half expecting him to figure out to hit the snooze bar on the alarm clock.

I have to remember to lock my cell phone when I put it on the table to charge because I've caught Brody several times poking at it to make it beep. He had half a phone number dialed in once!

Tucker likes to sleep in every morning. We're retired, but when it gets daylight I'm awake. Hubby sometimes sleeps in until 8 a.m. and Tucker sleeps in with him. Tucker will go out to potty, come back inside, curl up and sleep until almost 10 a.m. He's really a lazy boy.

OK, now you all have me jealous. Oscar gets up between 5:30 and 5:45 am EVERY morning. When he was little, I just accepted this, as he "needed" to go out before any accidents occurred. Now that he's almost 8 months old, it's not because of the potty thing, it's because the sun's up, and he wants to play. I'm fine with it on weekday's, since I'd be up by 6:15 anyway, but on weekends, I'd give just about anything to sleep in till even 7:00 am. I've tried bringing him back up to his bed after the morning contitutional, but he wants nothing to do with sleep then. Please someone tell me there's a breaking point where they decide sleep is more interesting than play at 5:30 am.

Pepper likes to sleep in, too. It's our big dogs that are whining and fussing at the crack of dawn, ready to go outside. And they're now seniors!

I like to imagine that someday I'll get to sleep in until 7:00 or 8:00 a.m. without worrying about a potty mess waiting for me.

Jack hates the alarm because it means that there is no chance of a car ride to Dunkin' Donuts. We only go on Sundays and the dogs each get a day-old plain munchkin.

Tucker was probably a year or so old before he started sleeping in. It will happened (I hope). It seems like they mature a lot at that age. He was easier all the way around. The same thing at age 2 and now at 3 he's really easy and mellow. He'll still play like a puppy, but he's just as content to lay around.
