My feet hurt

So its been about a week end a half at the new store. I really like working in the produce department. The sisters are bonding to my sister and don't really even miss me. The bummer is that even though I have been pretty much full time hours I am still about $400 dollars short of getting my own place to live. My hours suck they schedule me all over the clock. A few days at 4am a few at 9am a few at 3pm . I don't even know what day it is anymore. I almost killed myself climbing a tall ladder and garbed to heavy of a create full of Jared grapefruit. It was really scary . I got it off the shelf and couldn't climb down. I wasn't strong enough to put it back up. ( I never could climb the rope in grade school LOL) I felt like I was going to fall backwards. I screamed HELP HELP thank god someone heard me right at the nick of time. He could barley get it because it was so heavy. I really don't know what I would have done . Maybe I could have leaned forward and just held it against the latter tell someone came in. Thank god I don't have to work in a frezer that would be the worst job in the world. I can just see it now they find me frozen on the ladder.

Glad you got the job! Usually it takes time to adjust! try to pamper yourself when home - a bit of excercise, stretches, warm baths, relaxing, a bit of self massage, walks with sisters... it is phisically demanding job, but you will catch with it soon. I also pray that you got bigger salary or even better paid job. It is so hard when you do not have enough for basic stuff. Roki sends you (and sisters) many noselicks!

Glad you didn't hurt yourself! I'm a weakling too! Sorry to hear about the job and money woes. Maybe the longer you're there the more seniority you'll have when getting your hours. I agree when hours are all over the place it's hard to adjust. Glad to hear the girls are getting along with your sister that must be a great relief to you. Keep your chin up, enjoy your family and the girls during your freetime and be thankful for all the important stuff you have.

Sorry Suzi, I have worked retail forever so I know how it in the beginning! I have a set schedule now but it wasn't always that way. Plus, the older you are the worse it is having your schedule all over the place! All I can say is keep your eyes on the positions that have the schedule you want and maybe you can get one of those jobs or keep watching the want ads. These days it takes a lot longer to get raises in the retail biz so keep looking for greener pastures
