Unhappy Piper the Maltese Crosses the Rainbow Bridge

I'm so sad.

I just got a phone call from my mom and they had to have Piper, our sweet little Maltese girl put to sleep.

She was only 10 and has never been sick a day in her life.

Mom and Dad were on a cruise last week (Mom won an Alaska cruise) and had Piper with a pet sitter (lady who does small dogs out of her home). On Saturday, Piper had a seizure. Mom and Dad got back on Sunday.

Last night she just started having seizures one after another. Mom said it was horrible and Piper was screaming and crying. They took her into emergency vet and then had to have her put to sleep.

She was my special little girl. Every time I came to visit she abandoned everyone else to come be with me. She hated Brody and wanted to have nothing to do with him, but she put up with him in order to sleep with me.

Anyhow, I'm devastated. I wasn't ready. She was only 10 and always healthy.

RIP Sweet Piper. I miss you already and my heart aches.

Tracy, Such sad news, I know it hurts we never get to keep our little pals long enough even when they leave us at an old age. I lost my Shih Tzu two years ago he was 10 he had a bad heart all his life and he was having heart arrhythmias the night he died, they look very much like seizures even though the vet knew what was wrong and tried he could not save him. My heart goes out to you and your parents. Hugs

I am so sorry for your loss
I lost my two dogs within 6 months of each other Tasha was 14 and Sam was 14 1/2. It is never easy. If it wasn't for my heartbreak, I never would have found my Lily <3
Piper will always be with you in your heart.
