Well, I did it.

Remember just last week when I said that I was thinking about getting a puppy but I knew I didn't need one.....

Well, we now have a 3rd dog.

Her name is Buttercup (hate that name but my husband picked it) and she's a 6 month old Olde English Bulldogge. Her previous owners lived in a rent house and weren't allowed to have dogs. They were supposed to be buying a house, so they went out and bought a puppy and then things fell through. They kept her as long as they could while they look for another place but they were being threatened with eviction so they had to rehome her. Pretty dumb, but they did love her and take good care of her.

Anyway, she's a big beautiful bundle of bully love!

I was so worried about her and Jasper. She's not really a "big" dog (40lbs) but she's a lot bigger than little Jasper and she plays rough. We picked her up Saturday afternoon and we've been keeping them mostly seperate. Tonight was their first real playtime outside. They did great! Jasper runs circles around her! It's so funny. She's smarter than him though. Anytime he would run around the shed, she would stop and run to the other side and wait for him. Lol.

They are both adorable, my biggest dog is Yogi he is 17.5 pds and not over weight just taller, my smallest is 6 pds she loves to play with Yogi, they are buddies and play rough and fast, when I leave she is crated in the same room with my others, she is just too small to leave unsupervised with Yogi, he would not mean to hurt her but he is bigger.

Congrats on your new fur kid. Can't wait for more pictures.

Robbie, Boo Boo, Yogi, and Misty's human.

Congratulations! I'm glad they are getting along and Jasper has a playmate now.

I think once you started considering a 3rd, it was only a matter of time Lucky for Buttercup!

She's adorable! Someone else on the forum has both a bull dog and a Havanese and they get along great.

Are you sure she's an English Bull Dog though? She looks much more like an American Bull Dog or a Staffie. (both nice breds too, so it doesn't make any difference from that perspective!). She' slighter in build, and has much longer (and straighter!) legs and doesn't have the severly pushed in nose of an English Bull Dog.

She's an Olde English Bulldogge, not an English Bulldog....which basically means that she's an English Bulldog mixed with who knows what. There's a lot of variation in their looks because of this. Lol.
There are certain lines of Olde English Bulldog that are "pure" but mostly it seems like people just mix Bulldogs with something else and register them with the IOEBA as an "Olde English Bulldogge".

So even though she's got "papers", I'm thinking she's a mutt.

So she could be a Bulldog/Staffie, Bulldog/American Bulldog, or who knows what. We expect her to fill out more as she gets older and possibly get more of the "bulldog" look.

Luckily, we don't care either way. I was interested in her because of the "bulldog" name, but once we met her it didn't matter that she looks more like a Boxer than a Bulldog.

Well, she'll probably be more healthy than a purebred English Bulldog... She cna breath, and she doesn't need to waddle!

Yes, that's one of the biggest selling points on the breed. If you google "Olde English Bulldogge" every website will talk about them being healthier than EBs.
I think they could have potential to be a great breed if breeders could decide what makes them.
