Havanese Breed Magazine Issue #14

Issue #14 of The Havanese Breed Magazine is NOW available!

This issue contains a couple of straight talking articles from Bill Burns and Zoila Portuondo. Susi Szeremy’s article is important. She gets a few things said that need saying. There are too many people and organizations with hidden agendas who want to take our dogs from us. Lyn educates us on the trials and tribulations of importing Havanese into New Zealand. Steven switches off cameras and onto videos this time, educational as always. Sandra contributes a brief article on mentoring because it meant so much to her that she wanted to share. The Havanese Drummers is a very cute piece with links back to a great video. Lyndall continues telling stories from the view of her 2 year old, Saki. Tracking with your Havanese was an eye opener for me. Joan addresses conditioning as a way to correct issues which your dog might be experiencing. We received our usual column from the U.K. and the usual controversy with the Kennel Club. CJ entertains us, sharing her latest escapades with Jasmine in New York City. Suzanne continues to educate as always. Suzie shows us the sheer exuberance she experiences when asking Milo to go for a simple walk. And Teddy writes a hard hitting piece on positive training that should be a must read for everyone. Tracy shares her experience in herding, more for me to learn. Tom has a good time with his latest contribution. Anita continues with her dance moves from South Africa while Darlah writes about very important concept of socialization. This issue articles have been sent in from the USA, Canada, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Belgium and Cuba. I think this might be our most diverse issue ever. There are a lot of things one can do with their Havanese. My personal to-do list is getting longer.

We always have our humorous columns written by people that sometimes even pose as the dogs they love. And we have some serious health and training articles. Everything is meant to educate and inform you on a wide range of subjects that should be of interest to all. If you want me to cover a subject that you have not previously seen in this magazine please do not hesitate to say so. Email me directly by clicking on this link: [email protected]. I will respond to anything you care to share with me.

As always our Readers have shared many random photographs and we’ve contributed a few of our own. I’m told many Havanese people still did not know that our magazine exists. For those of you that do, and enjoy what you read, please help spread the word.

We welcome your comments including constructive criticism. If there is a subject you’d like us to cover please do not hesitate to let us know.
Above all, enjoy the read.
