Smile Jack's New Doggles

I got Jack some doggles for when we ride in the Model A. He wasn't enjoying it when we put the top down. I have hopes for the doggles.

Now I have to figure out how to get him used to them. Here is a pic of when I first put them on. I only had them on for a couple of minutes and stuffed Jack with treats. Baby steps...

Let me know if you figure out a good method on keeping them on. Murphy will start pawing his off after several minutes.

They do look cool in the doggles however. Murphy has the ones with flames on the sides so he looks tough

We got red ones because they were the only size small in the store. Someone posted a link to a video of a trainer getting a dog used to a haltie. The trainer used a lot of treats. The end result was that the dog would put his face in the haltie because he associated it with yummies.

I figured I would try to do the same thing. Every time he tries to rub them out, I'll distract him and give treats.

Pam

Be careful that you are not rewarding him for rubbing them off; you might just reinforce that behaviour. Instead, treat him when he wears them without complaining.

lol! I know. I try to make sure that I have his attention. (the opening of the treat jar accomplishes that.) Then I make him sit or something. I think I will try a short walk next.
