Brody was feeling poorly this morning
My poor boy wasn't feeling up to snuff this morning.
He threw up a little bit before we went to work. Nothing alarming there, he does occasionally do that, so no big deal.
When I got to work he seemed his usual happy self, greeting everyone. I put him in his pen and got to work. I turned around and there was a big pile of yellow stuff in front of his crate. I thought, "well that's weird why on earth would he pee in there?". So I grabbed the mop and mopped it all up.
Then I noticed there was throw up all over his crate blanket. He also, after I mopped up the pile of yellow stuff, got up on top of his crate and vomited up a bunch more yellow stuff...so now I'm not sure if it was pee or vomit or a combination of both that I just mopped up. He definitely threw up quite a bit. A couple of times there was dried grass in it. Brody really likes to nibble on the grass that sprouts up between the rocks in the gravel parking lot at work. I know none of the grasses out there where he hangs out and goes potty etc. has been treated with pesticides.
I'll try not to let him nibble on that stuff anymore. It's hard because he really likes sniffing all the leaves and flowers and every stalk of grass so it's hard to see when he's just sniffing and when he gets to nibbling!
I cleaned out his crate (very thankful that it's one of those plastic varik kennels that really comes apart easily and I could just take it over to the utility sink and run it under water, dry it, and put it back together. We have a washer and dryer at work so I took his crate blanket and washed it with some other stuff and got a towel from my car to put in his crate while the other one was being cleaned.
The poor little guy lay in his crate and made soft moaning/whimpering noises. I felt so bad for him.
He didn't eat his breakfast (which isn't entirely unusual, sometimes he doesn't and then he'll eat lunch instead), but he was drinking his water as usual and went out for his regular pee and 10 and went. He then pooped at noon when I took him out (He doesn't usually poop at this time, but it's not entirely out of the norm either. The poop was normal).
He ate lunch like normal and seems to be back to his normal self. He's sleeping on my foot right now.
I'm assuming it's the grass/weeds he's been nibbling on and so I am not too terribly concerned about it, but I'll keep an eye on him.
I just felt so bad for my poor lil guy.
I was thankful he did it at work though where it was a heck of a lot easier to clean up. If he'd done it at home it'd have been on carpet (or the bed or the sofa), plus I don't have a utility sink, and the washer/dryer (if available) costs $$$ to use.
